Let’s talk about Consistency!

Consistency is a word that gets thrown around a lot, especially when it comes to achieving our goals. We're told that if we want to succeed, we need to be consistent. But what does that really mean? And how can we be consistent when life gets in the way?

First, let's define consistency. Consistency is the ability to show up and do something regularly, over an extended period of time. It's about developing habits and routines that support our goals. When we're consistent, we're more likely to make progress and see results. However, what if I told you that being consistent doesn't mean always showing up at 100%?

We all have bad days, days when we don't feel our best, and days when we can't give 100%. And that's okay! The key to consistency is to keep moving forward, even when we're not at our best.

Think about it like this: imagine you're on a hike, climbing up a steep mountain. You may not be the fastest or the strongest hiker, but as long as you keep putting one foot in front of the other, you'll eventually reach the summit. It's the same with consistency - keep showing up, keep making progress in whatever capacity you can, and before you know it, you'll have achieved your goals.

The most successful people aren't the ones who are perfect all the time. They're the ones who are persistent, who keep showing up even on the days when they can’t perform at 100%. They're the ones who understand that consistency is a journey, not a destination.

So how can we be more consistent, even when life gets in the way? Here are a few tips:

1.    Set realistic goals:

When we set goals that are too ambitious or unrealistic, we're setting ourselves up for failure. Instead, set goals that are achievable and that you can realistically commit to.

2.    Develop a routine:

Consistency is all about developing habits and routines that support our goals. Make a plan for how you'll work towards your goals each day, and stick to it.

3.    Hold yourself accountable:

Find a way to hold yourself accountable for your progress. This could be by tracking your progress, sharing your goals with a friend, or hiring a coach.

4.    Don't be too hard on yourself:

Remember, consistency is not about being perfect. It's about being persistent. Don't beat yourself up if you're not performing at your best - just keep moving forward, one step at a time.

In conclusion, consistency is key to achieving our goals, but it doesn't always show up at 100%. It's about being persistent and committed to our goals, even when we're not at our best. So the next time you're feeling discouraged or overwhelmed, remember that consistency does not always show up at 100% - it just never gives up.

To your success,

Angela.
