The Morning Brew: You are Amazing
Hey fellow rockstar entrepreneur, let's talk about something important today - self-encouragement. As an entrepreneur, you're constantly facing new challenges, overcoming obstacles, and taking risks. It's easy to get lost in the hustle and forget to give yourself credit for all the hard work you're putting in.
You're out here, taking risks, chasing your dreams, and making things happen - and that's no small feat. So what if you encounter a setback, fail at one thing, or lag behind on a few tasks? It happens to the best of us. Let's face it, being an entrepreneur is tough! There are unexpected obstacles, twists and turns, and days when you'd rather not get out of bed. But instead of getting bogged down in self-doubt and negativity, why not give yourself a little pat on the back? You've been through so much and that is why you standing here in the first place.
So the next time you miss a deadline, don't tick all the items off your to-do list, or fail to make that Instagram post, here are a few reasons why you should encourage yourself instead of putting yourself down:
1. We're all human:
We're human and we cannot show up at 100% all day every day - that's just not the way we are built. So learn to give yourself grace during those times when your engine isn't performing at a full 100%.
2. Failure is just a temporary setback:
Crazy as it may sound, failure is just a stepping stone toward success. Remember the story about Thomas Edison from yesterday? He said, " I haven't failed, I've simply discovered 10,000 ways that won't work."
So what if you didn't get the outcome you wanted this time? You'll learn from your mistakes, come back stronger, and crush it next time. Refining your attitude when you don't hit your target is oftentimes all you need to get your engine running again.
3. Comparison is the thief of joy:
Your journey is unique and special, and you're making progress at your own pace. Looking at what other entrepreneurs are doing or how quickly they're succeeding is the fastest way to take the wind out of your sails.
4. You're amazing!
Seriously, think about all the things you've accomplished so far. You're a Rockstar and I really mean it. From landing a new client to finishing a project, and making progress toward a long-term goal - you're doing amazing. So take a moment to give yourself a pat on the back and celebrate your hard work.
The next time you're feeling down or discouraged, take a deep breath and give yourself a little pep talk. You've come this far and you will go a lot farther. Nevertheless, if you need an extra boost, don't hesitate to reach out to your #1 support system - we're all in this together!
You've got this, rockstar! Keep shining bright and making your dreams a reality.
